How Myle Supports Safe, Reliable Transport for Glasgow City Council

Every month, Myle supports thousands of journeys that help children and young people across Glasgow access education, specialist support and opportunities to thrive.

For many passengers, transport is about far more than getting from A to B. It is about routine, trust and arriving safely with confidence.

Glasgow City Council needed a transport partner that understood those needs and could provide dependable transport through careful planning, clear communication and a people-first approach.

Together, we have built a partnership focused on creating safe, consistent journeys for passengers, reassurance for families and dependable service for Glasgow City Council teams.

What Glasgow City Council needed

For children and young people who rely on supported transport, familiar drivers, consistent routines and dependable communication all play an important role in creating a safe and positive experience.

Glasgow City Council needed a transport partner capable of delivering reliable journeys while balancing safeguarding, flexibility and day-to-day operational demands.

How Myle delivers supported transport

Reliable journeys

Education and supported transport depend on consistency. Myle’s needs-led allocation is supported by experienced operational oversight, helping ensure the right driver is assigned with passenger needs in mind. This approach supports approximately 2,000–3,000 transport jobs every month.

People first

Every supported journey begins with people. Drivers undertaking supported transport are appropriately licensed, vetted and PVG checked. Familiar or designated drivers can be assigned where consistency and routine are particularly important, helping provide passengers with a more familiar and reassuring experience.

Real communication

Transport does not stop once a journey has been allocated. Myle’s operations team actively monitors service delivery, keeping drivers and stakeholders informed and responding quickly when plans need to change.

Local knowledge

As a Glasgow-based operator, Myle understands the city, its communities and the importance of dependable transport for local families, schools and support services.

Delivery in practice

Myle manages thousands of supported transport journeys each month, with delivery concentrated around busy morning and afternoon school periods. The team supports delivery through:

  • Journey planning and allocation.
  • Driver communication.
  • Live operational oversight.
  • Response planning when unexpected changes occur.

This approach provides the structure required to manage transport at scale while recognising that every passenger has different needs.

The impact

Reliable delivery

  • Approximately 2,000–3,000 transport jobs every month.
  • Thousands of passenger movements supported each month.

A trusted partnership

By combining careful planning, safeguarding and operational oversight, Myle has developed a transport model that supports both service delivery and passenger wellbeing.

Beyond the contract

Alongside transport provision, Myle has contributed to Glasgow City Council’s wider community benefit objectives by delivering targeted recruitment activity, mentoring and practical support through partnerships with local organisations including Career Ready, YoYo Movers and The Yard.
